Top Note Box with Petal Party

Last night the ladies came over and made their layouts using the Petal Party Simply Scrapin' kits. Before they got here, I was looking for some paper to use to make this Top Note box from Stampin with Karin. I wanted something bright and cheery. That's when I spied two pieces of left over designer paper and stickers from the Petal Party kit. It made a nice companion piece to go with the layouts. I wonder what I'll put in it.

Last Petal Party layout

Two summers ago, my father planned a wonderful family trip to Disney World for all the kids, grand kids and great grand kids. It was a wonderful trip. While there, I purchased all these Mr. Potato Head pieces for different Disney characters. Last week when I was in DC, my grandson pulled them out and built all these cuties. I just had to take some pictures of his efforts. They were perfect for this last Petal Party layout.

More Petal Party layouts

This is the second layout I made using the Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up!
Once again I gained inspiration, this time from a layout I saw in the May 2009 issue of Creating Keepsakes, page 86 titled Look! It's me in a tree. I loved the simplicity of the layout and the use of many pictures without looking crowded. The added bonus for me was that I had these wonderful photos of the trees in DC in bloom. Although the day these photos were taken it was overcast and the cherry blossoms don't "pop" like they did in my precious layout. Hope you enjoy these layouts. I have one more to share later.

Sweet Allie

I haven't posted this week but only because I have been scrapbooking and the layout weren't ready yet. Plus I've been visiting the new baby when I could. They (my son and DIL) dropped by with him last night but he is always asleep when I see him. Maybe with the long weekend I will catch him awake.
Here's what I've been working on for my scrapbooking group...Petal Party.
Today's layout features pictures I took on my recent trip to DC to see the cherry blossoms. This is Allie getting a close-up view of the trees. They were so pretty and full over by the FRD Memorial. I based my layout from the photo on the package. It featured a 3 x 3 grid that was visually appealing to me. Then I used the photo next to it to create the matching page.
Colors are Pixi Pink, So Saffron, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie.

And here is the package that I used for inspiration.

And before I close here is another pic of Jaxon the day after he was born. I hope to get some better ones Easter Sunday.
