Are you looking for a quick and easy card that can be made from ONE stamp set? Look no farther. Happy Watercolor, page 22 in the Stampin' Up! occasion mini, is a great set to have. It come with two floral stamps, two "swipe" stamps, dots, and three different word stamps. I used the new 2103 in colors for this card. The card base if Strawberry Slush. I stamped on Whisper White.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Strawberry Slush for the three "swipes" of color, Be sure to clean your stamp well between each color.</div>

Sale-a-bration is here and this is one of my favorite FREE stamp sets I earn with my $50 order! It's called See Ya Later. I used another FREEBIE...the Decorative Dots embossing folder. The card base if Whisper white cut 4 1/4 x 9 1/2 , and scored at 5 1/2. I used a 4 x 3 3/4 piece of old olive which was embossed. The dotted paper is from the Polka Dot Parade designer paper, cut 4 x 2.</div>

I used black and old olive markers to color the stamp. I used the chalk talk framelit to punch it out. Then is cut a piece of black card stock 2 x 3 1/2 and punched both ends with the new Scalloped Tag punch found in the new Occasions Mini 2014 catty. I was so excited to discover this!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04435272596746523016noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3028392444319911538.post-71506427966502777072014-01-21T11:14:00.000-08:002014-01-21T11:14:28.139-08:00Stampin' Up!'s new hexagon thinlit<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love the way the hexagon thinlit makes a kind of bee hive look for this card. Be sure to use a layer of wax paper between the cardstock and thinlit for ease of cutting. Without the wax paper my first two attempts just tore around the thin edges of the black cardstock. BUT with the wax paper there was no tearing and everything just popped out so easily. I also stamped the bee with versamark and then black embossed it. I used Daffodil Delight and Smokey Slate to color the bee. </div>

This is the card I made to swap at Leadership later this week. I used the new stamp called "People like you" and I used the emboss resist technique for it. Below are the steps I completed to make this card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit7d6FPUDp_bXPVrBY0u6alGrXkEztVAaR2uzAzHOb4DfcFlNVWmYUjFEdDIBVEvd8bbzWqCyZSWl25KWFz1keaUX6_ZdJztzplq26DLmfAjyKOTtXaxaIvJA5vxlciCEW7wElmXPHrJX1/s1600/IMG_2345.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEit7d6FPUDp_bXPVrBY0u6alGrXkEztVAaR2uzAzHOb4DfcFlNVWmYUjFEdDIBVEvd8bbzWqCyZSWl25KWFz1keaUX6_ZdJztzplq26DLmfAjyKOTtXaxaIvJA5vxlciCEW7wElmXPHrJX1/s1600/IMG_2345.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
On a 3x4 piece of vanilla card stock, I stamped the image with versamark and then covered it with clear embossing powder.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7BIY7pANVb-D_S71lpA9tndPFeBRuPkvKrjgbNt3AgfdgskTUz2Prk-V-w9x5L4bVndprYp6-YzJPaMc8cdxBYMDzmJMe5iOdUn09tjmJSlpIyQKKYSPcDJAA3yHfciBkPe5DcVTp_XC2/s1600/IMG_2346.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7BIY7pANVb-D_S71lpA9tndPFeBRuPkvKrjgbNt3AgfdgskTUz2Prk-V-w9x5L4bVndprYp6-YzJPaMc8cdxBYMDzmJMe5iOdUn09tjmJSlpIyQKKYSPcDJAA3yHfciBkPe5DcVTp_XC2/s1600/IMG_2346.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I heat set the embossing powder with my heat gun. See how it is shiny? The bit of color you might see is from the bit of left over ink that was on the stamp.I should have cleaned it better.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH3SyOC5ZZcfi28OiQXBLmD_KFuEFsH5ofaZofW-2VTdj-f-buffZhYEvA5NtS8iuuXgpQpntLQ0YYIHHl119Wmfg4Az0i2n-GDuPHUtfMtpNqBBqx1brpkkm9gwfTOEFo4H0mkY1OfLjU/s1600/IMG_2348.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH3SyOC5ZZcfi28OiQXBLmD_KFuEFsH5ofaZofW-2VTdj-f-buffZhYEvA5NtS8iuuXgpQpntLQ0YYIHHl119Wmfg4Az0i2n-GDuPHUtfMtpNqBBqx1brpkkm9gwfTOEFo4H0mkY1OfLjU/s1600/IMG_2348.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, and Pistachio Pudding to color the image.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDX6DNn6vlai4pmKCKvO3yvKCq1O9d6VsJTnVYHqYyYMzvf_MjHCEJfI540O35_tlqZZjyV90LMGWTLTkzRocQ9lngC7IcGfx_JCW-rid2rvlFdIv2QO41KTy3Nae1X_frbsJDonkk8PSi/s1600/IMG_2349.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDX6DNn6vlai4pmKCKvO3yvKCq1O9d6VsJTnVYHqYyYMzvf_MjHCEJfI540O35_tlqZZjyV90LMGWTLTkzRocQ9lngC7IcGfx_JCW-rid2rvlFdIv2QO41KTy3Nae1X_frbsJDonkk8PSi/s1600/IMG_2349.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I started with the Strawberry Slush. With the pad closed, press it a few times to transfer some ink to the lid. Using an aqua painter, add some water to the ink. Then use the watered ink to color around the edges of your stamped panel as shown in the next photo.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpQkw6ZnV_zrx10XYyzTR6NJvxhQryTSLQzojxUrItBYHhVBYd69qOctYrRWhMPBKnGERG6lIn5HYBr9AjaD88Cie3Qjc-dnnAJl10746gW9A_pVlKFSy8uoEhkVuC62fAoZApqrGPUEsR/s1600/IMG_2350.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpQkw6ZnV_zrx10XYyzTR6NJvxhQryTSLQzojxUrItBYHhVBYd69qOctYrRWhMPBKnGERG6lIn5HYBr9AjaD88Cie3Qjc-dnnAJl10746gW9A_pVlKFSy8uoEhkVuC62fAoZApqrGPUEsR/s1600/IMG_2350.JPG" height="320" width="257" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can see that I just added the color all over leaving some edges untouched.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVRc1uslA1H77o0_N_xewWrn_-JxoShwoOGt5uZU1GwCRE2PYd4WlSVepeIQwpdOqsGMqsDYtWjyDnut3ig47JcNtFWEZ-3iNS4R8tnsunrOMm_IvAA7BYcgH5w6s7mJIsKbuySv8kl8v/s1600/IMG_2351.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivVRc1uslA1H77o0_N_xewWrn_-JxoShwoOGt5uZU1GwCRE2PYd4WlSVepeIQwpdOqsGMqsDYtWjyDnut3ig47JcNtFWEZ-3iNS4R8tnsunrOMm_IvAA7BYcgH5w6s7mJIsKbuySv8kl8v/s1600/IMG_2351.JPG" height="320" width="248" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next I added more color over the stamped flower to make it pop. I dipped my painter into the undiluted ink for this.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXbVCHh1XK_YTu4RHBak7kNFUFLZ3fbFFusRpwzvCdWb1QpPXn54mUKwR34Gw381BdA2wFrdXRdkBgaYjh-7w43zsSNxVJufR9uS2SnJZcwPrjx2W8mfiXm34jh7j69NEQ73dGGjwJO8aV/s1600/IMG_2352.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXbVCHh1XK_YTu4RHBak7kNFUFLZ3fbFFusRpwzvCdWb1QpPXn54mUKwR34Gw381BdA2wFrdXRdkBgaYjh-7w43zsSNxVJufR9uS2SnJZcwPrjx2W8mfiXm34jh7j69NEQ73dGGjwJO8aV/s1600/IMG_2352.JPG" height="320" width="249" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I added the Daffodil Delight around the edges of the vanilla panel.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMWKT-eJfBFCX5Njhg5ph4gXkjWQ73n636n3OEcAA2U6xezj7sGc3xvx7othIUKXYd8GZdWOwSeEBv_jr3uRGQVxOg4RXVqA9AyhFS5E4LieTPnPuzmPeHjpk6rahYzuPn0xk3glzu2sbT/s1600/IMG_2353.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMWKT-eJfBFCX5Njhg5ph4gXkjWQ73n636n3OEcAA2U6xezj7sGc3xvx7othIUKXYd8GZdWOwSeEBv_jr3uRGQVxOg4RXVqA9AyhFS5E4LieTPnPuzmPeHjpk6rahYzuPn0xk3glzu2sbT/s1600/IMG_2353.JPG" height="320" width="250" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Finally, I used the Pistachio Pudding marker to color the stems.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSxbky-IGGl_s-q3gA4JtUZnQbNx93a7VHfzcROU0wB2CWk9M0gecZ0Dby0VbeuZqP2utEuuSeMzD27iHEAMjGXIFbrXMthbdl6rLydiOsGJIk9ddrREYwqTt8pfoDrxQ63TFQKPZ3RU7Z/s1600/IMG_2354.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSxbky-IGGl_s-q3gA4JtUZnQbNx93a7VHfzcROU0wB2CWk9M0gecZ0Dby0VbeuZqP2utEuuSeMzD27iHEAMjGXIFbrXMthbdl6rLydiOsGJIk9ddrREYwqTt8pfoDrxQ63TFQKPZ3RU7Z/s1600/IMG_2354.JPG" height="320" width="264" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I mounted the stamped panel onto a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 panel of Strawberry Slush card stock.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Added the Pistachio Pudding ruffled trim.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Emboss the Pistachio Pudding card front with the new Scallops embossing folder.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stamp the sentiment onto vanilla card stock and punch out withe the Decorative Label punch.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Glittern Gals SU group met at my house Sunday to make this adorable Scarecrow canvas. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We used asw many Stampin Up materials as we could. Here is Sharon and Debbie working on the background of their canvases. They had to paint the edges black, cut their background dsp and stencil on the black polka dots using the stencil from the Build a Banner kit. They used Mod Podge to glue the dsp to the canvan, Then they added a square of burlap and a smaller square of a coordinating dsp.</div>
<br />

In the other room Heather, Jennifer, Michele, Luana and Terri are working on their canvases. There was a lot of prep work that had to be done before they could begin attaching everything to the canvas.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First up is a file folder card made using the envelope punch board. I used designer paper from Sweater Weather. The leaf is from Gently Falling and I used the rock and roll technique to ink the stamp pad. I first inked the entire leaf with Crushed Curry and then "rolled" the edges of the stamp into Soft Sky. Stamp each leaf, reinking after each stamp. One of my ladies wanted to know where the green ink pad was, lol. I reminded her about what happens when you mixed yellow and blue. This beautiful card was a case from Catherine Pooler and I followed her wonderful video <a href="http://catherinepooler.com/2013/09/envelope-punch-board-file-folder-video-tutorial/">here</a>.</div>

This card was cased from Amy O'Neil. You can see her original card <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/15762667419335863/">here</a>. I used Pistachio Pudding ink and cardstock for my card. I also used the new Artisan Label punch as the landing pad for each of my butterflies. The designer paper for the butterflies is from Venetian Romance. The cardstock colors are Island Indigo, Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Suede, Pistachio Pudding.<br />

Happy Halloween, or Almost!</div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wanted to share the three mixed media projects I did for Halloween. I saw the ghost and pumpkin at the Stampin' Up! convention in July. The little ghost was my very first mixed media attempt. They are really easy and fun to make. I used paper from the Witches' Brew Designer Series pack as well as the coordinating Washi Tape. I found the foam spider webs at Michael's. It is a coaster that I cut to fit the corner. I stamped the bat, candy corn, and words using the Halloween Hello stamp set. I added some Orange glitter to the hat band. The spider, eyes and mouth are free handed with a permanent black fine tip marker.</div>

This is little Miss Halloween. She is a case from a design I saw on Pinterest. Again I used the Halloween Hello stamp set as well as Everything Eleanor for the flourish. I drew her curls free handed with a marker and added the black rhinestones for bling. More orange glitter on her hat. The white letters for happy halloween are just stickers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Little Pumpkin Boo is another one of the designs shown at convention. Same paper and stamp set as before. <br />

Today I will share with you some samples made by Debbie J. She is our resident expert on all things MDS. I have to admit I have MDS on my computer and lots of downloads, but I am still intimidated by it. Debbie has promised to start holding classes for us demos to help us get up to snuff, so to speak. Anyway look at these wonder samples from Debbie J.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This card was made using last year's angel, but I can see it working really well with the Christmas Dove in the Holiday Mini called Calm Christmas, pg 26.<br />
I love the gold stars stamped randomly over the Cherry Cobbler using the Gold Metallic Encore pad on pg 28.<br />

And here are mine. We both used only Stampin' Up! materials where we could. We used re-inkers to tint our white paint, we used SU designer paper for all our pieced designs. You might not be able to tell because most of it was painted over. We used SU stamp sets for all the distressing and words (expect for those hand written) and we even used the stencils for the Build a Banner kit (note the large polka dots and chevron designs).<br />

These are some of the banners Judy made. The mini holiday catty shows the traditional holiday banners, but Judy has shown other uses. Isn't the Bunco banner cute!<br />

Today was the annual Glittern' Gals' Open House. This is an event held each year by demonstrators in my side and down lines. We have been holding these for more than ten years. Each participating demonstrator invites all their past and current customers, as well as guests, to attend. It is our biggest event each year! </div>
We set up a HUGE used product store. Here is the BEFORE photo showing lots and lots of stamps and other product. This is the big draw to our Open House as everyone loves a bargin. This year we had sales of over $5000!<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>

Today I want to share my convention swaps with you. Since I have been remiss in posting lately, I have lots of things on reserve to show. So today will be a simple post.<br />

See the details in yesterdays post. My clue is RE-INKERS. It will be made clear to you why I picked that item as my clue when you view today's tutorial on how I do my mixed media. If you have been following me on Pinterest, you know that I have an entire board dedicated to this. There are some good <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC0FDKzW_Ss">video tutorials</a> on that board also. I'm sure there are others ways to do mixed media, but I will be sharing what works for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizmCZs74lJwR1ABZlKPLJRafGmXClhigV4NQMpPzSIPhz_noa7Q11XOb_2s6C0FRzGsH0EE5LIPu3j5YDOXLv3hKFuXAuSZ7FwCPVQPdDcsRK0nECwXFhRmsApX2YfyLsLOCA6eH9KSqo-/s1600/snowman+(10).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizmCZs74lJwR1ABZlKPLJRafGmXClhigV4NQMpPzSIPhz_noa7Q11XOb_2s6C0FRzGsH0EE5LIPu3j5YDOXLv3hKFuXAuSZ7FwCPVQPdDcsRK0nECwXFhRmsApX2YfyLsLOCA6eH9KSqo-/s320/snowman+(10).JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This is the project I will be showing you. I feel in love with the card designs by <a href="http://www.brightandmerrydesigns.com/">Bright and Merry</a> and have adapted them onto canvas. I have used Stampin' Up! materials where appropriate. So let's get started.<br />
I purchased all my canvases from Michael's simply because it is the closest craft store near my house AND because they were having a BUY ONE GET ONE sale last week. I used an 8x10 canvas for this snowman.<br />
<ol>
<li>Begin by preparing your canvas and background. I covered my canvas with a coat of Modge Podge Matt. I used several different designs from the Winter Frost Designer Stack (132183 found in the Holiday Mini). I tore each page into uneven pieces and used front and back designs if they fit into my color scheme. I put modge podge onto the canvas with a sponge brush and again on the back side of each piece of paper and glued it to the canvas covering the top of the paper as I went. I used my heat tool to quick dry the modge podge. Keep the tool moving as you do this to avoid large air bubbles from forming. If they do, stop and smooth them out. Note: I don't always use different papers on my background. Most times I just use one design and cut it about 1/4 inch smaller than my canvas.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj71VmaOu3JvJ7Nc_hhHvjZ2OkRkaMYYKRaOfqCnbMtg71QswNGGgSzqrUB8kYlSfLfBcftTPAv92l_yEq1jp3soom9pfQr9vh671xqSp0Yb-AMVnjmWnN32_b__0KZAa0iI7N0nbgSGMAJ/s1600/snowman.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj71VmaOu3JvJ7Nc_hhHvjZ2OkRkaMYYKRaOfqCnbMtg71QswNGGgSzqrUB8kYlSfLfBcftTPAv92l_yEq1jp3soom9pfQr9vh671xqSp0Yb-AMVnjmWnN32_b__0KZAa0iI7N0nbgSGMAJ/s320/snowman.JPG" width="270" /></a></div>
</li>
<li>Now it is time to start layering on the paint. Here is where the re-inkers come into play. I start with a dime size blob of white paint I purchased from Michael's, you know, those cheap bottles that are about 80 cents. I used an empty SU embellishment plastic container. They are perfect for mixing the paint in. I added 4 or 5 drops of Tempting Turquoise re-inker into the white paint and mixed it with my sponge brush. I brushed the paint over the paper and sides of the canvas. You can decide how opaque you wish to go.I covered my fairly well. Then I mixed together some white paint and Old Olive re-inker and painted the lower portion of my background, also adding some of the green to the sides onto top of the blue. In the photo below you can see what I did. I also mixed together some white with real red, not much white or it will be pink, and added some splashes of red on the edges.</li>
</ol>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="" /></a></div>

<ol> 3. Now comes the fun part, added all kinds of designs to the background using your stamps or any material that will add texture. I used paint directly onto the stamps. Heat set paint to dry, then add a coat of Modge Podge. The colors of the blue and green will intensify as you add coats of Modge Podge. I did have some problems with the white paint fading as I dried it with the heat tool, but I just kept moving forward.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOymgH-dTRl3S4CtGHN1xK6rA9tCMZgtwaUajT63fzzGWU_s_tnp3vR85ppFVkMkMJMeTHbE3Wz7FMo-_QOt0fk3QPTui4XbOJd1XeGobPwLFoqY8_5P-Tw9St2Mmtzwz1pDhyphenhyphenQqWY3jcZ/s1600/snowman+%25283%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOymgH-dTRl3S4CtGHN1xK6rA9tCMZgtwaUajT63fzzGWU_s_tnp3vR85ppFVkMkMJMeTHbE3Wz7FMo-_QOt0fk3QPTui4XbOJd1XeGobPwLFoqY8_5P-Tw9St2Mmtzwz1pDhyphenhyphenQqWY3jcZ/s320/snowman+%25283%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. At this point I could also start adding texture using by black stazon ink or other permanent black ink. On this project I added it later, as you will see. Next I started building my design with pieces of designer paper. I started with the tree and added some washi tape as well. I used the Modge Podge on the background and backs of the papers, then put a coat over the paper. Heat set to dry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgc912N-dMFESesTYrmS-axeZpo63zHy7RCOJaGxjeScqVTJ_YIKmhRPx08Bohjnsnag2xu8bvWpqnnuPQH_1r3dAxvKartT6MTjpUkr2MzSbkuU_RXuo1_p5ryJGE6b2jWWhcgBsjYfoh/s1600/snowman+%25284%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgc912N-dMFESesTYrmS-axeZpo63zHy7RCOJaGxjeScqVTJ_YIKmhRPx08Bohjnsnag2xu8bvWpqnnuPQH_1r3dAxvKartT6MTjpUkr2MzSbkuU_RXuo1_p5ryJGE6b2jWWhcgBsjYfoh/s320/snowman+%25284%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
5. The snowman was next. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. Every part of him started as a piece of paper glued down with Modge Podge. Then paint was added. I sketched the snowman onto a piece of copy paper to get the right shapes and proportions. Then laid my sketch over the desired print paper and traced around the pieces with my stylus. This left enough of an impression for me to follow to cut out each piece.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8e3SWrS3RrpqIGtcVLCQSlmTr0MakEJYol0HfcJZvzc2-8bEVFsrI2IQi5zz0zy_iEYRnVTWbcGzas-yPAkyX6Njm4Rj8QQU1KS7TrQllCdIjV9roODXur1ksh3PkH4ZFzjOzgIcjLMcQ/s1600/snowman+%25285%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8e3SWrS3RrpqIGtcVLCQSlmTr0MakEJYol0HfcJZvzc2-8bEVFsrI2IQi5zz0zy_iEYRnVTWbcGzas-yPAkyX6Njm4Rj8QQU1KS7TrQllCdIjV9roODXur1ksh3PkH4ZFzjOzgIcjLMcQ/s320/snowman+%25285%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The hat is actually cut as one piece, but could easily be done in stages. I used black and white paint to add shadows to give the hat dimension. The carrot nose is cut from Tangerine Tango by hand. The red bird was punched from Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the wing section of the SU bird builder punch. You can see I had added old olive polka dots to the background using the new stencils from the Build a Banner kit found in the Holiday mini.I hand painted the holly leaves and berries. Everything is heat set to make sure all the modge podge and paint is dry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
6. The final step is to add all the black details using stamps and black permanent markers.<br />
Some of the stamps you could use to add details are: Happy Day, Gorgeous Grunge, Positively Chevron, Background Builders, Clockworks, Festive Flurry. There were also some great stamps I found in my Paper Pumpkin boxes! I used two kinds of markers. I used Prismacolor Premier in Jet Black to outline all the pieces.Then I used an ultra fine black Sharpie for the skinny details. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9vEdy_QSpP-SQkeQPYbhFK-jXaak31pORsa86zRnU_hKF9zyYpkAeyMALGBo_7R5BtKx6Bk1LViL1I6x1vNfY01jKaEPsEdmgrflSfX7ERxU5USOYReNITwTQJP5cy0jE71GPU3Ei6jg9/s1600/snowman+%25287%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9vEdy_QSpP-SQkeQPYbhFK-jXaak31pORsa86zRnU_hKF9zyYpkAeyMALGBo_7R5BtKx6Bk1LViL1I6x1vNfY01jKaEPsEdmgrflSfX7ERxU5USOYReNITwTQJP5cy0jE71GPU3Ei6jg9/s320/snowman+%25287%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
</ol>
<ol>I wrote my title onto the white sheets of tag that back out designer paper packs, cut them out, glued them down with Modge Podge, and heat set. When they were dry I outlined them and then added the scratch marks around them. I gave the entire canvas one more overall coat of Modge Podge and heat set to dry, be sure to add modge podge to the edges of the canvas as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyROmQnBdhwbkhdhDC2RTDSS-KyclSomyV4LfzHP2p1byPzDkDdNTytvjPkcQCpheVmSrPomPSNWK0BYaiB7RXr3QeSgwuKVYiAByRHol3NIdsci9v_71Ku4ozAoJ2E91P6cQC07QKIgOF/s1600/snowman+%25288%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyROmQnBdhwbkhdhDC2RTDSS-KyclSomyV4LfzHP2p1byPzDkDdNTytvjPkcQCpheVmSrPomPSNWK0BYaiB7RXr3QeSgwuKVYiAByRHol3NIdsci9v_71Ku4ozAoJ2E91P6cQC07QKIgOF/s320/snowman+%25288%2529.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
As a last step I used the tip of my stylus and dipped it into white and red paint to make the lights and snowflakes on the tree. I hope this tutorial was helpful. You can leave comments and questions if you have them. I will be posting many more canvas projects that I have finished as the days go by. I hope you will check back.</ol>

This is something that really caught my eye and I knew I would have to try it! I started by casing two of the Halloween themed canvases she did. I used all Stampin' Up! materials, except for the canvas, modge podge, and black markers. I will be posting more so be sure to come back. Also I will be participating in a LNS Fall Treasure Hunt in October. Look for details.<br />

It was a wonderful time for me because all my boys and their families were in one place for me to enjoy. That's not easy when we live so far apart, have busy lives, and so many grand kids. But now is the time to do it while they are still young and not too involved in their own activities. Here is a layout I made of the pictures my DIL too of two of my grand kids. Alli is 31/2 and Jaxon is 2 1/2 . They are cousins but they look more like brother and sister. It was so much fun watching them play together. They were such copy cats, having to do the same things together.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I stumbled across one day while looking at Nancy Reily's iPicks. I am finding lots of inspiration there. For example both of these cards were inspired by cards found on Pinterest. This layout with the circles came from Joy Taylor. I converted it to all Stampin' Up! products using the FREE Sale-a-bration designer paper Everyday Enchantment. Such gorgeous paper! I used the 1 3/8" and 1" circle punches. I sponged all the edges with Soft Suede ink. The card base is Lucky Limeade.<br />

Again I tweeked the design and used all SU products. Dont you just love the scalloped edge? I used the new edglits and the adorned accents embossing folder. This is also made with the Everyday Enchantment paper from Sale-a-bration.Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04435272596746523016noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3028392444319911538.post-29729904561895252992012-02-01T14:54:00.000-08:002012-02-01T14:54:57.624-08:00Stamp Club features SAB and Occasions mini<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8DhNDN2xSjR7NKnNAB5uEiyY_ckXbgO2BkpQFap5ZNZELhYkW0S9rN-jrvkBVoVYYuIRmvQEUVSGECOU0fEkuO6DTRNa-R6WfyPyBX7cr9ExreQAnVvs3Bb1OdH5HD5IhRTk12M78V-KW/s1600/IMG_1993.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8DhNDN2xSjR7NKnNAB5uEiyY_ckXbgO2BkpQFap5ZNZELhYkW0S9rN-jrvkBVoVYYuIRmvQEUVSGECOU0fEkuO6DTRNa-R6WfyPyBX7cr9ExreQAnVvs3Bb1OdH5HD5IhRTk12M78V-KW/s320/IMG_1993.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />

I was very excited when I saw my name listed with the rest of the winners. I won designer paper, brads and sticker from the Sweet Shop line. This card features the new doily sizzlets die, the beautiful new pleated ribbon, and brads from sale-a-bration, buttons and dsp from Twitterpatted. The card base is blushing bride. The words are from the new set in the occasions mini called Baby Prints.Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04435272596746523016noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3028392444319911538.post-68554978131564137862012-01-15T12:14:00.000-08:002012-01-15T12:14:36.608-08:00January Stampclub<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgic6Es0LEr6HqZ8Dqtn8QPlNpA_MtALNqbCRrmZ3MIVPWu7JfW78hL0pCkIbqNTeeeVqkFkFWA5oU62lc2CdU-7YSsf4l3wL1Su5yY2Mx97OD5wSpeVuxROsT6RtAlyHpq2t7D0bwDShyG/s1600/january+stampclub.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgic6Es0LEr6HqZ8Dqtn8QPlNpA_MtALNqbCRrmZ3MIVPWu7JfW78hL0pCkIbqNTeeeVqkFkFWA5oU62lc2CdU-7YSsf4l3wL1Su5yY2Mx97OD5wSpeVuxROsT6RtAlyHpq2t7D0bwDShyG/s320/january+stampclub.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> The new Occasions Mini catalog is filled with so many new and exciting products. Page 6 introduces the new Framelits dies, sort of like Nestabilities. This first card pairs the Labels Collections with the stamp set Apothecary Art shown on pages 24-25. You simply stamp your image, position the desired size framelit around the image, blade side down, sandwich this between two cutting pads, and run through the big shot on tab 2. The dsp is called Attic Boutique, shown on page 23.<br />

I paired it with the Domestic Goddess dsp from the big catty. The ribbon is in the SAB catty which you can order beginning January 24th.<br />

Don't let all those pieces that have to be popped out scare you away from this die. It cuts all the way through the card stock and the pieces pop out easily using a piercing tool. I used the flower stamp from Bordering on Romance, page 11.Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04435272596746523016noreply@blogger.com0
