This coming Saturday, October 3rd, is World
Cardmaking Day. To celebrate this day, my
Stampin' Up! sisters (sideline and
downlines) are hosting a Customer Appreciation Day. We do this every year after we return from Convention to share all the new
products, swaps, techniques, and demos we saw. It is also a chance for us to sale all our retired stamp sets, paper, and other products. We usually have over 100 people. This year we are asking our customers and guests to bring cards for the troops. These cards are for the troops to use to send messages and greeting home to their loved ones. We will include the envelopes. The military provides the postage home. The main restriction on the cards is that they contain NO glitter for obvious reasons (it will make them a target if it gets on their clothes!).
I am doing one of the on-going demonstrations. I will demonstrate the ways to use the Shimmer Paint. Andrea
Walford (see her link at the right) did a wonderful 5 post on ways to use the shimmer paint. Thanks to her, I was able to get my demonstration together pretty easy. I will be posting some of the cards and uses. Some are
completely CASEd or borrowed from Andrea and others.
The first and easiest way to use the shimmer paint is applying it Directly to the Stamp with one of
SU's sponge
daubers. Remember to clean your stamp right away. The longer the paint remains on the stamp, the harder it is to clean if off.
You can see how to do this technique (masking) from Andrea
Walford here.
