Vitalized Vellum Technique

I've had the time this week to try different things for my next stamp club weekend. I saw this technique over on Flowerbug's Inkspot. LeeAnn called it "Vitalized Vellum" because you used vellum card stock. You can see details over on her blog (see my side bar). I first tried it with the bird from Good Friend, but I didn't really do anything for me. So I tried the butterfly from God's Beauty and was much happier with it. I used the in color Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point (trying to use is all up).

Daisies

Jackie inspired this card. She made one using the diasies die and the big shot, and designed this cute little pot using the wide oval punch. You can see her card here. For my card, I used the Tea Party designer paper and Lovely Liliac cardstock.

I am trying to use up my in colors before they retire. I had a full pack of Pacific Point so decided to use it for one of the stamp club projects coming up in two weeks. I will show them how to make the circle card, how to use the new Stampin' Up! circle cutter, how to do the watercolor technique, and a short cut to embossing with color and clear ep. That's alot of info in one little card!!

CCB07 Challenge

Lil' Inker is hosting this week's reative Cute Bloggers' Challenge. I specifically wanted to do this one because I have signed up with SCS to do this swap at convention. We had to create a card with just ONE layer of paper. That's not always easy for me with all the wonderful designer paper SU has to offer. But sometimes you just need a quick card. Well I knew right away that I wanted to use this new die for the Big Shot. It is called (um, let me look and see what it's caled) the Curly Lable Bigz XL. This die allows you to determine the placement of the curly lable cutout. I used the Cheep Talk set and the words from the A Little Birdie Told Me set. Ink and marker colors are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun and Real Red. Words are in Basic Black. Its hard for me not to use ribbon, so that was my embellishment, real red grosgrain.
When you open the card, you can see the little bird sitting on a branch and saying "it's your birthday".

Mojo Rose

I had time to play in the stamp room tonight. The cable was out, so I missed alot of season finales. Did I miss Dancing With the Stars? Who won? I can't believe the cable was out, it's not even raining!!!! It's a good thing I had some things on the DVR to watch. I like the stamp while I watch tv. It's called multi-tasking, right? This card is for the Mojo Monday sketch. I just love this watercolor technique. So simple!

Pop Up Christmas Tree

This is the first card I've made with the pop up cake die. Several people were really thinking outside the box with this one. I decided I wanted to try and make a christmas tree with it.

I made it just the way it calls for a cake, then added a free cut a triangle for the top of the tree. I decorated it with buttons. It sure does make a thick card, though.

Explore with Hoppy Memeories

This is the last layout I made with the Hoppy Memeories Kit from Stampin' Up! I love the papers and stickers SU puts in the kits, and the textured cardstock with the best!!!
I used one the the big chipboard pieces I purchased from Technique Tuesday when I attended the CKC Convention in Houston last month. I used the the chipboard as a template to trace the a bracketed piece of designer paper. Then I cut it in half and mounted a piece on each cardstock page. I also used the new circle cutter from SU to cut the orange circle by the title.
Now I am just waiting for the perfect photos to mount on the mats and I'm done!

Play with Hoppy Memories

Here is the second layout made with the Hoppy Memories kit from Stampin' Up! the right hand page has a hidden flap that lifts to allow more photos. I haven't got my pictures in here yet, but I have some of my grandson Trevor playing ball that will probably work great with this layout. Photos go next to the number stickers.

Circle Layout with Hoppy Memories

My scrapbooking group met last night. We made 3 12x12 2-page layouts using the Simply Scrappin' Kit "Hoppy Memories" from Stampin' Up! I only have pictures on one of the layouts so far,(haven't had time to add photos to the others. I'm busy cutting paper for the Perisian Breeze card class that I am holding on Friday). I love how this turned out. I cut the letters out that say Jaxon 5 weeks with my new Cricut, but the color doesnt show up well, so I have since cut new letters and used the other side of the designer paper which is Pumpkin Pie and it really pops. Boy that was a long sentence. Probably broke all kinds of grammar rules.

As a side note: I babysat Jaxon tonight while his parents went to the new Star Trek movie. He arrived fed and asleep with assurances that he would be out til they got back. HUH! He woke up ten minutes after they left screaming his head off. After changing his diaper, he quieted down for awhile and I ooh and aahed over him until he started crying again. I really think he was either still hungry or had a tummy ache. So I was walking him, rocking him, bouncing him, rubbing his tummy, more walking, more walking and he finally fell asleep ten minutes before his parents arrived to take him home. They want to know if I'll keep him next Wednesday too! lol

Happy Mother's Day

My newest grand baby was dedicated in church today, what a great Mother's Day gift! God has been so good to me and blessed me with 4 precious grand babies!! Here is sweet little Jaxon. He is always asleep when I see him. I tried VERY hard to get him to wake up but he was out solid! You know how those Sunday afternoon naps are!

Demo swap

My demonstrator group will meet next Sunday. We will be discussing our plans to attend convention. There are around eight of us that are going. I'm sure many of you are getting excited about it too! Anyway, we will also swap. The theme is "summer". I saw a card that Jan Tink (see"Stamps, paper, scissors" in my favorite blogs) did and fell in love with it so much that I had to CASE it here. It is made from two scalloped circles that I cut with the big shot. Then scored a line about 1 1/2" from the top of one of the circles to create a flap. I folded the flap to the front and then attached them together with my mono. I made eight of them, but have just received word that there will be 10 swapping, so I need to make a few more.

Rodeo Cowboy

The theme this month for the SASSSC swap is "male birthday". I love to use the cowboy theme for my guys, seeing as how we live in Texas. I stamped the bronc buster onto glossy paper with black staz-on (simply because it stamped darker than my black classic ink pad). Before I stamped it, I added the sunset with my brayer and spectrum pad. It was so easy and added such pretty color behind the stamped image. Then I used some old olive designer paper and black cardstock to make the card. I brayer some glossy cardstock with the same spectrum pad and stamped the "Howdy" with black staz-on before punching it out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and mounting it on a 1 3/8" olive circle. It is popped up over the punch black star. I attached a loop of twill tape with three black brads. I also distressed the edges of the designer paper to give it a more masculine look.

Mojo Monday 85

I need to make a few more cards for my Parisian Breeze card class. I have wanted to make this card with the popped up blooms and the silver beads in the center ever since two of my sideline made some. Love the look of the silver microbeads! I used my blender pen and re-inkers to color the blooms and leaves right on the stamp with kiwi and baja breeze. The stems are chocolate chip marker.
